Ansgar Belke was invited as a Keynote Speaker to international conference „The role of structural reforms in boosting external competitiveness in European Union countries“, Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, and Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Zagreb.  He delivered a speech on “Structural Reforms in the E(M)U: Myth, Incentives and Reality“. The second Keynote Speaker was Boris Vujčić, Governor of the Croatian National Bank. Ansgar Belke also took part at a subsequent high-level policy panel.
